Ode to the MOB by RASA:

Steven Bernstein is a weather system.
You don’t write about him—you brace for him,
laughing while your ear is still ringing
from the one note that came in sideways
and left a dent.

The man is porous—
a megaphone for a half-century of everything unrepeatable.
A historian with a slide.
A prankster with precision.
A conductor whose beat is consent and combustion.

You don’t get that balance often.
You get loud.
You get funny.
You get brilliant.
But you don’t get someone who can shred a room
and still hold it all like a midwife.

And the thing is, Steven plays recognition.
He hears who you are in the sound
and sends it back
brighter.
Or bent.
Or soaked in joy.

SEXMOB isn’t just coming to play.
They’re arriving as a flare—
a heat signature from a scene
that never went cold.

They’re walking into the Annex
like it’s a room they already dreamt.
Because it is.

This is what all those basement nights were building toward:

Convergence is possible.
Freedom can be composed.
Rhythm—when held well enough—
makes space for memory and invention
to coexist.

And something rare will happen
that doesn’t need a name
to be real.
