Henry Threadgill, a renowned composer and multi-instrumentalist, collaborates with his band Zooid on the album "Poof." Zooid, featuring Liberty Ellman, Christopher Hoffman, Jose Davila, and Elliot Humberto Kavee, has been his steadfast ensemble for over two decades. The album continues Threadgill's exploration of sonatas and concerti, challenging traditional musical forms and structures. Their unique sound, built on a serial intervallic system, is marked by unpredictable forms, rhythmic complexity, and melodic interplay.
