Closer LP (ESP Disk)

"Closer," the seventh album by jazz pianist Paul Bley, was released in 1965 on the ESP-Disk label. The album features seven compositions by Carla Bley, one of his own tunes, "Figfoot," Ornette Coleman's "Crossroads" and future wife Annette Peacock's "Cartoon." Closer features the distinctive pianism we've come to associate with Bley in one of its earliest recorded manifestations.
