Frank Lowe, an influential tenor saxophonist, made his debut on ESP-Disk', a renowned free jazz label. He began his career in San Francisco but later moved to New York, where he collaborated with notable artists like Alice Coltrane, Sun Ra, Rashied Ali, and Noah Howard. On his first album as a bandleader, he shared the stage with Joseph Jarman from the Art Ensemble of Chicago, who played soprano and alto saxophones. The album also marked the recording debut of bassist William Parker. Additionally, it featured a mysterious violinist known only as The Wizard, later revealed to be Raymond Lee Cheng. In 2008, ESP reissued this classic, including previously unreleased music that enriches the album's experience.
